Foundations and Groundwork for a Double Extension – Worldwide Confectioner
This recent project was to provide extensions to the north and south sides of the marketing and training centre.
This involved installing strip and pad foundations for the steel framed extension and taking the under build to DPC level, with the floor slab being installed to the high standard required.
New drainage was also installed on this project to service the new extensions, connecting into the existing drainage system.
Maude Construction laid new areas of paving and re-laid some of the existing to complement the new extensions. The entrance road and car parking were realigned to provide better access to the extended building.
These works were carried out with the utmost consideration for the site owner and users, to eliminate any disruption.
Project - Unit 6, Guiseley Retail Park
Unit Extension and Drainage Improvements
We have recently completed the extension and alteration of a commercial unit in Guiseley near Leeds. This was a project that utilised all of our skills from deep drainage to building and demolition works.
The project involved the strip out and partial demolition of the building and installation of a temporary propping system to enable us to install the mini pile foundations and to construct the new extension.
Maude Construction also upgraded the drainage system, which required emptying and grouting up the existing bypass separator, ensuring all waste was disposed of correctly. A new separator was installed along with new deep drainage to connect the new separator to the existing drainage system.
The car park layout was altered to suit the requirements of the new occupier and fully resurfaced with thermoplastic marking, including a specialist company logo.
Housing Development with Site Remediation - Walsden, near Todmorden
Our recent project at Walsden is a good example of our ability to manage complex remediation and reclamation works.
The scheme involved the construction of 32 prestigious high value homes on a brownfield site formerly occupied by a dye works.
Our role included the safe demolition of the existing structures including sound ecological management, with the relocation of a bat roost.
The site was of historical significance, so we also co-operated fully with local heritage teams to enable them to archive artefacts from the site.
Given the previous use of the site, we ensured that the soil removed from the development was managed strictly in accordance with rigorous environmental requirements, including working closely with Biffa Waste Management to ensure appropriate off site soil remediation.
The steep topography of the existing site called for careful planning to help achieve a more level development.
Maude Construction installed a series of gabion walls, sheet pile walls and crib walls to create sound earth retention structures. We also created the foundations for each of the homes using piling and raft techniques.
Finally, to complete this comprehensive remediation and reclamation project, we planned and managed the upgrade of four existing culverts.
Project - Beech Hill Primary School
Foundations, Floor Slab and External Works
Maude Construction assisted the design team with a proposal that was adopted and used when it became apparent the proposed steel driven tubular piles were unsuitable due to the high level of bedrock. With Maude Construction’s proactive approach, the scheme was able to run to programme and finish on time.
This project was working on a live school so it was vital we coordinated deliveries and collections not only to be outside of school drop off and collection times, but also outside of the children’s break times.
Linton Parish Council
Maude Construction were approached by Linton Parish Council to supply and install a new natural stone kerb line. This was a water control and a parking restriction measure to protect a grass verge in a Heritage area.
Bespoke Housing Development
Maude Construction are able to act as a full service housing developer to private clients. A recent example of this is the design and construction of a prestigious new home in a rural district of North Yorkshire.
The project is an excellent example of our ability to integrate and deliver all of the services required in a high specification home build.
We provided a variety of outline house designs, plus appropriate external designs that would comply with strict local planning requirements. We also worked closely with our client to provide a number of internal floor layouts, to best meet their personal requirements.
Our role as developer included managing the planning process and achieving building consent for the new home.
The specification of this new build was very high, in terms of the build quality, the external finish and the internal fixtures and fittings.
Maude Construction used their in-house planning and construction team, as well as their specialist craft teams, to provide the high level of materials, build quality and finish required for this prestigious new home.
